• The World of Jill Bennett - Jill started making dolls in the late 1970's and found they were an ideal vehicle for her three great interests - story telling, the theatre and social history.
She tries to make each doll a person, with individual personality and clothes to match, whether they are aristocrat, servant or street urchin. Jill Bennett makes small dolls. Most of them are strictly 1 inch to the foot (1/12th scale is the international scale for dolls houses). But from time to time she makes slightly larger ones up to 9 inches high.
The miniature dolls have porcelain heads and pewter bodies strung through with twisted steel wire at the joints. This gives them considerable flexibility to stand or sit or adopt other poses. (They will stand without support.)

• JANE DAVIES ARTIST DOLLS - Jane Davies is a long established doll artist who specializes in making small highly detailed porcelain dolls for the discerning collector. She produces a wide range of 1/12th scale dollshouse dolls, of which some are also available in resin.
Another range of larger scale, and yet still miniature, dolls portrays realistic and appealing children. Figures of 12 to 18 inches made for art galleries in a variety of media complete the portfolio of this versatile artist.
The definition of an "artist doll" varies considerably, but you may wish to know that Jane Davies takes it to mean that the doll is designed, sculpted, and made by the artist in a style that belongs to that artist alone.

• Candlelight Dolls - The dolls are hand-sculpted and dressed by me, Lisa Lennon. I have been working as an artist and craftsperson for the past 15 years. I only make one doll of each kind and all of them are made entirely from scratch. The faces, hands and feet are delicately sculpted in polymer clay. The faces are hand-painted and each dress is individually tailored. Since every doll is carefully crafted, the whole process involves considerable time.
